09:32 pm: Great returning post
So my first post back after not being on LJ for a while and it's not fun. Today was informed that with the merger and the restructure my role has disappeared. So now I'm on the hunt for a new job.

If you anyone knows of companies after Business Analysts, please drop me a line.

05:54 pm: oops
Part of one of my teeth just broke off. Fortunately it's not painful, but it has a sharp edge.

Thankfully I was planning to work from home tomorrow anyway, so have booked in to see a dentist.

08:40 am: So it ends
Yesterday was my last day before I start my new role as a BA, so I'm now moving out of the call centre environment, and after years for working in that sort of environment it sort of feels a bit weird to be leaving it.

So 365 days from today I can take passengers on the bike - please note that the queue is forming to the right, no pushing in either LOL

09:23 pm: 5 into 1
Ok, I had a five year plan for my career of becoming a Business Analyst. With that goal in mind I left my job at Virgin Super to work for another Superannuation company which had more opportunities to grow. That was just over 12 months ago.

Today I was offered a Business Analyst role that I had applied for internally, my response to their offer  "Hell Yeah"

I don't know exactly when I'll be starting up the new job, but I am one VERY happy camper.

Current Mood: bouncy

02:31 pm: Grading
Well I'm home from the hapkido grading with a new green belt, got to admit that I'm feeling a bit under the weather with both sinus and inner ear issues which had me doubting if I'd get through the grading. I was surprised how little it effected me while grading, guess it's all the focus and adrenalin. Now it's finished I feel like crap again.

But I'm very happy to have passed ...

06:55 pm: back to work
So I had a nice week off work with C, lots of chill time and stuff. I think he is enjoying the time together more and more each time. I just hope that he starts behaving better when I'm not around.

On another note, I turned up at work this morning to be pulled aside by a workmate asking if work had called me on Friday. It seems one of the people I sit next to committed suicide during the week. He was a nice guy, happy alot of the time, always good to chat to and I've got to know him a little during the 6 months that he has work here. Seemed happily married and loved his kids. I would never of thought he would end his own life.

And I feel ................ strange

02:16 pm: THE BIKER

I saw you, hug your purse closer to you in the grocery store line.
But, you didn't see me, put an extra $10.00 in the collection plate last Sunday.

I saw you, pull your child closer when we passed each other on the sidewalk.
But, you didn't see me, playing Santa at the local mall.

I saw you, change your mind about going into the restaurant.
But, you didn't see me, attending a meeting to raise more money for the hurricane relief.

I saw you, roll up your window and shake your head when I rode by.
But, you didn't see me, riding behind you when you flicked your cigarette butt out the car window.

I saw you, frown at me when I smiled at your children.
But, you didn't see me, when I took time off from work to run toys to the homeless.

I saw you, stare at my long hair.
But, you didn't see me, and my friends cut ten inches off for Locks of Love.

I saw you, roll your eyes at our leather jackets and gloves.
But, you didn't see me, and my brothers donate our old ones to those that had none.

I saw you, look in fright at my tattoos.
But, you didn't see me, cry as my children were born and have their name written over and in my heart.

I saw you, change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere.
But, you didn't see me, going home to be with my family.

I saw you, complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be.
But, you didn't see me, when you were changing the CD and drifted into my lane.

I saw you, yelling at your kids in the car.
But, you didn't see me, pat my child's hands, knowing he was safe behind me.

I saw you, reading the newspaper or map as you drove down the road.
But, you didn't see me, squeeze my wife's leg when she told me to take the next turn.

I saw you, race down the road in the rain.
But, you didn't see me, get soaked to the skin so my son could have the car to go on his date.

I saw you, run the yellow light just to save a few minutes of time.
But, you didn't see me, trying to turn right.

I saw you, cut me off because you needed to be in the lane I was in.
But, you didn't see me, leave the road.

I saw you, waiting impatiently for my friends to pass.

But, you didn't see me. I wasn't there.

I saw you, go home to your family.

But, you didn't see me.

Because, I died that day you cut me off.

I was just a biker. A person with friends and a family.

But, you didn't see me.

Re-post this around in hopes that people will understand the biker community.

If you don't re-post this, It sucks to be you. I hope you never loose someone that rides.

12:22 pm: xmas party
Last night was my work xmas party, it was 80s theme and was at the metro theatre. I hadn't realised how much bigger the company is, I know every by face at least on my floor, around 100 people, it took 10 mins at the party to find anyone I knew.

Lots of people dressed up in 80s style and there was a couple of bands, one pumping out 80s rock hits and the other a variety of 80s hits. I must say that I had a blast and so did everyone else so it seemed from the dancing and singing.

Only problem was the dance floor ended up really slippery from spilt drinks and later in the night a lot of people stepped onto the floor and ended up on their arse instantly, due to this I ended up wearing a few beers.

There was a cool laser show too, follow the link for sample

09:25 pm: Time
Well the owner of the unit I'm in has finally decided to renovate the unit, so the real estate called me this morning to give me notice, so I have 9 weeks to find myself a new place.

The real estate are nice people and helping me look, as well as offering to give me a good reference to any other real estate.

Got to admit that after 3 yrs I'm pretty comfortable here, and with the move, no more cheap rent :(
